Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

Scope of service

Brazil Records Desk provides Brazilian-law document retrieval and coordination services to U.S. law firms and their authorized representatives. Services are limited to Brazilian law. We are not admitted in any U.S. jurisdiction and do not provide U.S. legal advice.

Client relationship

An engagement begins when a written quote is accepted and payment is received. Submission of an intake form does not create an attorney–client relationship or any obligation to provide services. We reserve the right to decline any matter.

Third-party costs

Quoted service fees cover our coordination work. Third-party costs — cartório emoluments, courier, apostille fees, government agency fees — are quoted separately and passed through at cost. We are not responsible for changes in third-party fees after a quote is issued.

Timelines

We provide estimated timelines based on typical processing times for the requested document type. Timelines are estimates only. We do not guarantee delivery by a specific date when third-party agencies are involved. Rush requests are handled on a best-effort basis and quoted separately.

Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to the service fees paid for the specific matter. We are not liable for consequential, incidental, or special damages arising from delays, document rejections, or third-party agency actions outside our control.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Brazil.
